Thank you I totally agree. I have no problem with anyone's religion, culture or colour. There are just too many people in this country and our services can't cope with it.

Well according to the bible - death! According to the well worn quote from Leviticus.
The problem is that neither of us (I assume) are religious scholars and if you search around then you can find the quote that suits your argument in the Bible, Quran, Torah etc. etc.

As I admitted a few posts ago, I'm not a religious scholar (or even a scholar of any sort).
The danger of selecting bits of text from any religious document is that I (or, I suspect, you) havn't any idea of context, period or even accuracy.
The Leviticus quotes are probably used and abused in every Christian argument - old testament so no longer valid as we now have the new testament (interesting concept that the word of God can be "updated"!)
Who knows - perhaps the same thing is happening to the Quran.

To clarify - I don't support any religion. In fact the only view I have is that most of the world's conflicts since time immemorial have been based somewhere on religion.
Probably worth remembering that every time Guy Fawkes goes up in smoke, every time there's a Rangers/Celtic match (or in the interest of fair play, a Celtic/Rangers match) or when the '*** Army' chant goes up from the Spurs terraces or when the marching season starts in Northern Ireland.

For what it's worth, my opinion is that both the Koran and the Bible, and the Torah (isn't that just the first few books of the OT anyway?) are ancient documents with absolutely no foundation in their claims to have been written by God (as there ain't no such animal).
It surprises me that supposedly intelligent people still take what is written therein at face value.
The Christian church has, at least, made efforts to re-interpret the Bible in order to move with the times.
Islam, unfortunately, has not.
Atheism, of course, is more advanced than either of them.
