SINCE HAVING A NEW BOILER FITTED BY BRIT GAS, WE HAVE DEVELOPED

A NOISY BANGING IN THE WATER PIPES!!

BG FITTER JUST TURNED THE MAINS PRESSURE DOWN UNTIL IT STOPPED,

SURELY THIS CAN BE ERADICATED, AS IT WAS NOT THERE BEFORE!

I ASSUME ITS AIR IN THE PIPE, BUT HOW CAN THIS BE STOPPED?

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

What boiler, what system? sorry crystal ball is away for repair at moment

Sorry your ball is in for repair!!

I'll help you out then. Lol.

The boiler is Ideal Isar HE35.

Condensing Combination.

I didn't realise BG fitted Ideals. Thought they used Glow Worms or Worcesters.

Isar HE35 will need full flow of cold water into it to give proper hot water results out of tap otherwise you have wasted your money

Try and describe which pipes you think are banging. CH or domestic HW.

Isars are prone to banging problems eminating from a flue fault. I think BG are fobbing you off at present.

Turning pressure down is like taking a paracetemol for bad tooth ache. The tooth needs extracting to cure pain properly

Hi thanks for your prompt reply.

The boiler is upstairs and the banging pipes is coming from downstairs behind sink, dishwasher and washing machine, mains stopcock.

As for not realising BG fitted Ideals, the fitter, who came to replace a pump (after only a month or so) couldn't find it on his laptop either.

I would suggest its from the cold water pipes.

BTW caps lock is not nicer to look at

you sound like you are sufferring from water hammer

nowt to do with the boiler

you may be a pressure reducing valve

IT DEPENDS ON WETHER YOUR PROBLEM IS WITH... YOUR COLD SUPPLY ....I think they may have crossed your Flow & Return pipes, & you may have old trv`s.,

how would turning the mains pressure down til the noise stopped be anything to do with the trv's mate ????

So is there anything that triggers the banging sound? like turning on a hot or cold tap? Or is it just randomly through the time your heating is on? etc etc

What did the ISAR replace, another combi?
