try it first.
run some insulation tape round the slots and drain the basin see if it works better. ;)

hmmm. doesnt seem to make much diffrence if i tape up the slots.

i need an unslotted waste though so will have to get one and see what happens.

If it's an adjustable one, make sure the centre tube isn't pushed right down against the bottom of the trap. It needs about 10mm clearance to work properly.

the sink waste meets up with the bath waste so do i need an anti-vacuum trap?

i was looking at that idea
but useally you get a gurgling or water trap problem if a anti vac is needed.

it seems that when you shut the plug its trapping air between the plug and the water level.
and only being released when you open the plug, but the water is trying to go down and the air trying to come up.

as on a basin with overflow the air can release out of the overflow.

on closer inspection there is in fact gurgling. quite bad gurgling too.

it gurgles from the basin at end of drainage and also from the bath.

looks like i will need an anti-vac bottle trap plus getting the unslotted waste. maybe these two factors will increase the drainage.
