I have been asked to fit a 13 amp socket in a shower room, I cannot get 3m away from the shower , max 2.5m. My thought is to fit an isolating transformer in an adaptable box outside and feed the socket from the secondary, it will be a WP socket as well, has any one got any thoughts

The Regulations do not permit it in the UK.

The only sockets allowed within 3m of the shower (zone 1 edge) are SELV/PELV or shaver sockets to BS EN 61558-2-5.

Unless you can meet the 3m rule, the only socket allowable is a shaver socket to BS EN 61558.

A charger for a hoist, cutting plug off not an option as its owned by third party, just throwing ideas around, might get a joiner to knock up a cupboard
