It's a fairly new installation & the cabinet is by Villeroy & Boch.

Who's name was on the EIC / MEW certificate?

Didn't think so

OOI was the socket RCD protected? not that it makes it any better.

Nope, there wasn't any paperwork. And there is NO RCD to be seen anywhere in the property, despite an RCD warning sticker on the MEM (100A incomer) CU.

Wot a laff!

Definately not, it's just that once again, it makes me question the effectiveness of part p, whether softus agrees or not

out of curiosity, is there an isolating transformer built into the cabinet?

no different to a shaving socket then surely..

The installers probably thought "oh its built into the cabinet, it must be safe"

Silly question, but is it actually live. It's not just on there as part of a generic design for use in other locations?

there is a UK version listed on the website with a shaver socket, and euro versions, and this version.. doesn't say for use in UK though.. so maybe abroad where they use 3 pin plugs.. ?

is that a rampant rabbit hanging off the bath tap, if it is should it not be bondaged

It is live.

Even if there were an isolating transformer, the 1363 plug/socket arrangement is still not compliant, surely?

Heres a controversial one for you... if it were RCD protected and in zone 3, what code would you give it?

(I'd settle for code 2)

It's gotta be code 1.

A socket outlet is NOT allowed full stop, regardless of protection.

Now, if it were an FCU in Z3 with RCD, that may be compliant, as long as you can confidently say that the switchgear is built with that environment in mind.
