BAXI,MAIN,POTTERTON CONDENSATION TRAP BROKEN

in the last 2 weeks i have visited two propertys for reported water leak from the boiler.both have been main he combi,s and the condesate trap has broken on the top side as the hose connects,resulting in i.d situation till replaced ,anybody else had same fault as baxi not aware of problem.

yes gordon, although it was on a MAIN Combi, same boiler though.

the spout which connects the black hose to the trap and simply snapped off.

WHAT SORT OF DEFENCE IS THAT,WHAT IF THE BOILER IS IN THE BEDROOM A/CUBOARD WITH THE TOWELS SOAKING UP THE CONDENSATE?

And they leak without breaking !

Had 3 go in past year anything from 3 month old to 11 months luckily plumb centre allow us to take one from a new boiler and they order up replacements. Baxi Boys what is Baxi`s take on this an why does it happen its not even a moving part

Yes I had this once, also had the plug for cleaning not done up in the factory. After that incident I removed the side panel of every boiler so I could check that, because it doesn't do our goodwill any good at all to get a "my new boiler is leaking" call from the customer.

I got very tired of the poor condensate trap quality and the local rep said he would send me 5. He never did.

Too late now I use the Sabre for my cheap boiler, and I recon it's better.

Promax/barcelona type were made taller, with shorter rubber hosey bit. Not sure about the combi ones.

They get LS-X both ends of the hosey now.
