Bearings for Hoover Dynamic Next 9Kg

Pretty roughed up bearing seal but still will not come out. Do some get glued in, as someone has put online?

Pretty roughed up bearing seal but still will not come out.

It looks like a standard seal. There will be a metal surround, around the edge, moulded over, buried within the seal material. Not much good applying force to the flexible part, you need to somehow apply it to the outer metal ring of the seal somehow. That's why I mention a slide hammer - the tip, hooks under a lip, on the end of a rod, then you slide a weight up, until it hits a stop.

Not suggesting you buy one, but this is how they work...

Thanks for that video. I have been watching alot of his YT's as he is excellent in explaining everything in the simplest terms.

My machine is on the far left! And yes, around a year or so ago, my PCB failed!

I was a part time white and brown goods engineer in the mid 80's and I agree with everything he stated about longevity. Those days are sadly long gone, in all of our industries (what's left that is).

Anyway, after much bruising, profanities, hammering, staring and more staring, I have managed to remove all the sh*te bearing/seal bits from the inner drum.

All I have to do now is try to purchase the correct bearings and I am struggling to find the correct set with seal.

Any advice please?

To be honest, I am surprised I have got this far!!! :giggle:

I am using the part number taken from the bearing seal as 35 62.1 11/17.5 to purchase from (see previous image).

But the only seal that comes up close is 35 62.1 11/12.5. None as 35 62.1 11/17.5

Is this the one to buy please?

Is there a whole bearing/seal kit?

One bearing seal I have found is here but it didn't look like that????

Rolf Bearing Seal

Weird, that on the website's images, one side states 17.5 whilst in an other image it states 12.5 which is common with alot of other seals and bearing sets I have seen that are close.

HELP!!

35 is the inside measurement, the diameter of the shaft.
62.1 is the outer measurement, where it fits into the plastic outer casing of your drum.
11/17.5 is normally the width of the outer of the 62.1. Why is gives two figures I am not sure - perhaps the 11, refers to the lip that protrudes beyond the 17.5 width? Normally, most seal don't protrude like that, the entire seal would be within the 17.5 width.

I cannot see where you are seeing the 12.5. That seal, seems to be the correct one you need.

Thanks Harry for your continued support! (y)

I am confused as some of the images clearly states 12.5 (see below for both, showing 12.5 and also 17.5)!

I presume when inserting the seal, the extended lip part will go in first and sit inside the large bearing?
When I removed the drum there was any sign of the lip part of the bearing seal. I just don't get it!

I see what you mean! I would order by the part number

Oil seal 41029863

If you zoom into your own photo of the seal, before you destroyed it - it clearly shows the size,

35*62.1*11/17.5

and with the lip outwards.

Yeah, sorry about that. I tried my best not to deform it but it was impossible, otherwise I will still be trying to remove it now!

But when I finally split the outer casing to get to the drum, there was any protuding lip from the bearing seal. That I do remember.

As it stands, the website we are discussing is from Kyviv and takes 3 weeks to deliver. Delivery starts from €7! Been in talks with them and they are looking in the problem I have noticed withthe 12.5/17/5 situation.

This is now getting out of hand. :(

Putting the bearing seal to one side, what would the definitive bearings to purchase be please?

I don't know. You have the original bearings, they will be stamped with their size, but failing that, measure them with a vernier gauge, or take them along to a bearing dealer for them to match.

They need to be a sealed bearing, the sides should have black plastic either side, to prevent moisture getting in.
