Hi- we recently replaced our kitchen doors to give the old kitchen a refresh, and replaced the stainless steel sink with a Belfast sink to match the new style. The sink we bought was the same dimension as the old one, but as it’s curved it doesn’t fit the space.

Annoyingly the plumber broke the old sink, and we can’t find a sink (Belfast or otherwise) that will fit the space.

Does anyone have any advice on how to make the sink look less odd and badly fitted?

It wouldn't bother me but if you want to seal the gap try using a pvc quadrant of suitable width.

That does look odd. Maybe some kind of decorative towel rail across the front to match your handles would disguise it.

A towel would hang down across the cupboard door below.

I'd even consider leaving the gap to catch any water spill from the sink.

I agree the whole set up looks odd, have you thought about having a custom sink cut in marble as an alternative?

Have you thought about gluing some worktop to the front face on the sink so it brings the face out level with the units? Might be more the look you were aiming for

Unfortunately the worktop was inherited with the house, so I’m not sure we can get enough of a match. Annoyingly we didn’t replace the whole kitchen as we thought we’d save money by just replacing appliances and cabinet fronts. In hindsight not the best decision

Agreed. There is a quartz lip to catch water, but it should only be 1cm deep, and is currently 3cm. We basically need a sink that’s around 3-4cm longer, but they don’t seem to exist.

Contrasting with Verde alpi or afyon pink marble might look fantastic with the white units you have

I like that idea. Any chance you know I reasonably priced supplier? The cabinets are actually being painted dark green (they’re just primed) but a dark green marble could look really greats just conscious of cost. The sink wasn’t cheap and now we can’t return it

Belfast sinks make great planters for the garden, if you decide on a marble replacement.
