I have a cheap pillar drill that I got from Argos many years ago and I need a new V belt for it.

I need to know what belt I need as I no longer have the old belt to match a new one up.

I believe it is the generic Chinese bench top pillar drill that often gets re-branded.

I also believe the inside length of the belt should be 648mm

Any help appreciated.

Look up power transmission engineers.....a brilliant firm is Eriks who may have a branch near you.
Use a piece of string between the pulleys and check your measurement as accurately as you can, and then ask for a belt that's close....,it will probably be an A section but you could take the machine with you.
The belt length is taken at the centre.
Is there any way of tensioning the belt?

Update: I have just got a new v belt from simplybearings and it fits perfectly:

For anyone who is interested or needs a similar belt for a similar bench top pillar drill; my one is a 10mm wide by 8mm deep spz belt. The inside length is 649mm. Belt number: spz687
