Best in-line limescale filter

I'd like to install a limescale filter on the incoming mains before it goes into a combi boiler. Are there any filters out there that don't reduce flow that much and are quite effective? I've seen the whole house filtration systems, but not sure how much maintenance they'd need and how much they'd restrict the incoming flowrate.

You cannot remove limescale with a filter!

You would need a water softener and perhaps not all combi boiler makers recommend their use.
