Best plastic fittings

OK, have ordered push fit plastic, and they will all be under floorboards, so not in any position where it cannot ever be accessed again.

Rads arrive Monday so I can start pulling in pipe.

Cheers All

Common sense prevails!!!!

Who would have thought it would take 6 pages to decide on using push fit fittings with push fit pipe!!

Sir John of Guest would be spinning (push fit allows rotational movement) in his push fit grave

The majority of pros recommend compression.

Now thats just a lie. Unless you can show any shred of proof? This thread alone as a small sample shows your on your own. What you are saying is that across the world more joinst are made by professionals with compression than by the PUSH FIT FITTINGS

You not the Hep2o/speedfit may start producing such fittings if that was even remotely true???

I've been away for the holidays and have just come across this thread.

To the OP use Pushfit, follow the manufacturers installation guide and you shoul be fine.

Different makes carry different lengths of warranty, the longest being Hep2o which is 50 years, so forget about the "All O rings fail" if installed correctly you won't have any issues.

The most important things to remember are.

Always use a pipe cutter designed for plastic pipe
Always use an insert
Always make sure you insert pipe fully into the fitting (pressure test if you can)
Keep the fittings clean (don't get grit or dirt get into them)
Ignore everything that Norcon has posted and you will be fine
Best to stick to one manufacturer of plastic (use a system rather than Mix n Match

Nearly all new build houses have plastic Pushfit systems on Heating and H & C Water services including under floors, behind Dot n Dab etc.

Well your just a new comer to the forum so hardly in any position to know.

Three and a half years in the gas forum (on here) and 10 years plumbing....

Also for somebody so helpful your post to thanks ratio aint too clever

Well he's got nearly twice the number of thanks to you Nobcorn.

Where are all these professionals that agree with you?

Your imagination doesn't count.

And to Sandy's list add "don't drag your pipe across the ground" (scratches in the outer wall may well cause leaks)

I'm confused now. So to be clear.

Always use compression fittings and not plastic as they are carp ?

:P

Not on this thread. On previous threads sunshine.
Seems like you got a short memory. lol

Links please.

And what about all the other questions you are ignoring?

I don't have to go trawling through previous threads as my memory is good. Do your own trawling.
You should be well practised at it now.
