If you can protect it from freezing just use a bar shower mixer. I always do and just hard pipe the outlet to an external bib tap with isolator and drain cock.

I do a lot of dog washing stations with this setup.

Would you not be able to use an iso valve on each feed and operate them manually? Don't forget you need non return valves on each feed.

Don't bother with gate valves unless you want to control flow. They just seize up over time.

I would think it would be negligible as a restriction anywhere is a restriction!

Do you have gravity hot water? Or mains pressure (as in combi/unvented cylinder). For washing cars, pressure would be preferable to flow IMO.

Personally, I'd prefer separate fittings as you can then use the isolator if/when the check valve needs replacing... Same reason I don't like flexi hoses with built in isolators.

Gate vales take a lot more turns to open and closed compered to a ball vale

Basically it comes back to 2 outside taps with a Y piece - Full flow taps and unrestricted - only restriction as suggested are the double check valves but they are a requirement on an outside tap - or 2 inside full bore lever valves feeding one normal outside tap. Set the inside taps to the temp you want and use the outside tap as the outlet. Loads of ways to do it but it all comes down to what you really want.

A thermostatic valve outside is not recommended unless it can be 100% protected from freezing weather. The slightest freeze will damage the thermovalve and then it's stuffed.
