Bit rough? Needs sorting?

Hi.

I've been in my house for 5 years or so - no real electrical issues.

Been tackling a bit of the loft which had been "boarded out" (not just floor but a roof and walls had been created for storage). Wanted rid as I wanted air to flow up there - bit fusty)

Anyway, I unearthed this - just looks really rough, the individual cores and tape wrapped connection blocks look to serve the fluorescent light and switch).

Anyway, do I need to get someone look at it or is this par for the course? Of course, is likely been like it for many years.

Rough ! But not the worst we've seen Get an electrician to tidy it up. The red with the bare end is a concern, don't touch it !
As usual, an ok job until the bodge it dodge it home owner has a go !
