We left a bleach bottle on an oiled iroko worktop (Danish Oil). It left a pale ring, which doesn't go when I apply more oil. How can I get rid of it?

You could try to sand it back.

Unfortunately I find with my beech worktops i need to resand the whole length as you can see where the new danish oil meets the old.

I use a d/a sander connected to a dust extractor, 80 grit to begin with, then 180 and 220. I then apply a coat of danish, followed by a sand with 400g and apply more and more coats.

It is a bigger job than it might look on first inspection and will take a week.

I love wooden work tops but they are high maintenance. Also avoid contact with products containing ammonia.

Sorry i can't provide a quick fix- I wish there was one.
