Hello,

I think I know part of the answer, just need confirmation.
Our downstairs toilet is blocked. We have a concrete floor and a concrete drive next to the toilet. There are no manwhole covers immediately next by but the outside drains are clear - I looked in there.
I have tried a plunger - no luck, hot water with washing up liquid, industrial strength unblocker for more than 24 hours all did not help and I managed to get a snake wire about 2 metres into the pipework through the toilet. The snake is hitting something and it comes back with "sediment" attached. I cannot however unblock the pipework.

My next step is to get the toilet off. It probably has not been off for 30 years. The bolts are rusty and spanners just shear off rust, so it will be a drill and grind job.
I have attached pictures of the toilet.

Is there an option of working an access port into the bend behind the toilet?

Any other ideas?

Fill the bowl with water and then try one of these:

You could probably swap the bend behind the WC Pan for one with an Access point, but clearing the underground drain from inside the property is not for the faint hearted, it can get very messy, very quickly.

Give Andy's suggestion a go, if that doesn't work I think you are going to start investigating where the drain does run, if the blockage is several metres down the line, I presume by that stage it's outside the Building, so would better be dealt with from outside.

Thanks for the replies.
Just as an update.
I the end it was a toilet off and 2.5m of snake wire with 2 people twisting screwing it through the "sediment" and pull some back and push the rest through.

If it quickly re-blocks then it could be that root penetration is trapping material.

There is no plant growth for 5 meters either way from it. Everything is concreted over with houses both sides.
