Tonight I went out the back and noticed the drain was rather full.

So hand in pulled out a ton of BABY WIPES!!!!

I had caught the 2 year old shoving them down the toilet earlier.

Now I have spent a good 3 hours hooking away emptying out the foul water.

This drain has only the down pipe into it or so I thought.

I have reached an outlet about 1ft down the clay pipe it all 'seems' clear. I have ramme dit eith some 16mm cable I have (no rods) from the soil stack and from the drain have not seen the other end yet.

However went a little further down and found alot of gravel and started scooping this out.

Got my hand in the outlet can't feel anything else in there.

Kept pulling gravel out.

I the have either found another outlet or the clay pipe is broken , not sure which.

We are absolutley skint at the moment!!!

Couple of questions.

Would/ should the down pipe waste be connected to the soil stack, the reason I ask is when i flush the toilet the outside drain fills up.

Is it worth my time getting the pick and shovel out and exposing the drain and stack?

I have no idea what the system is set up like, but, we bought the house off a right old diyer and have near enough rebuilt the place.

The ground is not great to work on but I'm not afraid of blood sweat and tears, no work on as i am a sparky!!

Advice would be great

so the blockage is toward the house

usually when you flush the loo and it comes up a drain there is a block after the branch

ie it cant get down the pipe so it finds another way out

you need to hire some rods fella
