Boiler exclusive to B.G question

Yes they installed it.
Its bloomin noisy as well.

BG have changed the name but underneath it's a standard Baxi boiler....although that model is in fact a modified Remeha boiler from the Netherlands (they are part of the BDR Thermea group along with Baxi).

Rebadged Baxi Ecoblue Heat / Advance Heat. Beware that parts are eye-wateringly expensive. The fan, burner, gas valve, and PCB are all one part. If any one of those components fails, you have to buy the lot, which is very nearly the same price as a new boiler.

I think it was the fan that went.
So you think that any gas safe engineer can get the parts....or maybe they sell the parts only to british gas for a certain time then after that to everyone else?

I just felt that I had no choice but to take out home service contract with bg.

Yes, anyone can get the parts, it's not limited to BG and never has been. The combustion control unit (of which the fan is a part) is a smidge over £400.

Call Baxi and see if they will do a fixed price repair on it, will be cheaper than just buying the complete unit and that will include fitting
