Will be fitting a new system in my house im currently working on. This will be within a month or so but trying to plan it all out.

what type of system will i need, it will be powering 7 rads, 3 DHW taps, washing machine, dishwasher (if it requires hot water), and a thermostatic shower.

Was speaking to someone who mentioned the flow could be crippled if say the washing machine and shower are on at the same time with some boilers.

I want something that can handle a few open taps without compromise, and prefably a vailant.

Thanks

dishwasher (if it requires hot water),

No it doesn't... a simple y-adapter will give it cold feeds and it'll sort itself out. Much more efficient as you should be using colder washes anyway.

As for the boiler.

A decent 30kW combi will be fine if you are more into showers than baths; which you did not mention.

I use the Atmos InterCombi, but they are not mainstream - sadly. Others will recommend Vaillant (hhhmm), Veissman, and Worcester Bosch. They'll do.

There's nothing special about Vaillant anymore. Don't believe the hype.

No combi will handle multiple outlets unless you invest in somethnig with stupid Kw outputs. Unless you have high use of the bath a hell of a lot I wouldn't bother; even then think about an unvented cylinder and system boiler.

will be using shower more.

I currently have a ecotec pro28 at my other house but just about does the shower and sink tap.

was just looking at the ecotec plus 837 which is a 38Kw boiler with a fflow rate of 15l/min - should this be suffiicient without an unvented tank?

If you are happy with 15l/min then sure. Unvented cylinders are great, but a large investment just for a shower.

The only real advantage is the immersion heater for a backup.

is 15l a good rate, and adequate for a shower and say the kitchen tap running?

With an average showerhead and flow regualtors... I suppose.

I have a 22l/min shower and hate anything less - BUT I lived for years n my old flat with a 24kW Vaillant Turbomax producing 9l/min. No other taps could be run.

Its all a matter of budget and desire.

Where are you getting the 15/min from? If it is the boiler spec then look carefully. ALL manufacturer's overegg performance without lying. It will probably be @35 degree temperature rise. Fine for the summer - plss poor in a cold winter.

There you go... 35 degrees.

My 24kW combi/unvented does >22l/min... but is bigger and needs a G3 registered installer

Remember also that this is heavily dependant on what is coming into your property water wise.

what about a ecotec plus 837 with a unistor?

I need a system to give good flow, or can an unvented cylinder be added later easily?

It depends what you consider a good flow. The unistor works on a principle of having a high temperature bank of water that is blended down for use. It then tries to keep up with demand.

Once the store has run out you are back to normal combi performances.

It seems - on paper - a good value for money boiler. But do you really need it?

Most people - for showering purposes would be more than happy with 15l/min - I've just beomce spoilt. You can ge a pefectly acceptable shower from 9l/min.

So, you can put 4l/min restrictor on the sink taps and let the shower daw the rest. Therefore a 15/min boiler will be more than enough.

Your the customer, you must decide whether somethnig is too high or too low performing. Just remember - more perormance, more cost.

A uniSTOR is Vaillant's unvented cylinder, so your comments are a little off the mark.

I think you assumed the OP was talking about the ecoTEC 937 hybrid combi with a Powerstore.

Try looking at the Broag Remaha Avanta 39c condensing combi
16 ltr/minute....
In my opinion far superior to your vaillants & worcesters.
We work as agents for Broag and they only have a 2% failure rate on warranty defects (2yr parts & labour)
The output modulates down from 6-39kw, dependant on demand.
