What's the idea ?

Press the key fob once to unlock the driver's door.
Press again to unlock the other doors and boot.

Is that normal?

Yes, that's typical VAG.....there may be another plipper on the key that unlocks the boot only, and then locks again once you're done.

It can be changed but you need to have dealer level diagnostic kit such as vcds/vag com.

Is this an early anti hijack feature? Muggers etc can't get in your car through the other doors while you're stopped in traffic?
