Bosch CSB 850 2 RET

Hello

Have the above with a worn out keyless chuck fitted.

Strictly, the correct part for it is the keyed chuck, 1 608 571 080.

I would like a Bosch keyless replacement chuck, like 2 609 255 704.

Does anyone know if that one will fit? Bosch tech only suggest they keyed chuck.

As far as I can see, yes it will fit.

The keyed is 1/2 inch - 20 UNF

The keyless is 1/2 inch - 20 (doesn't state UNF) but I can only find it on a Russian site. Where have you seen it?

I suspect they're all the same (within sizes). Bit cheaper too.

Just spent a decent amount of time trawling the garbage Bosch website.

It seems that all of their 1/2 20 chucks are UNF, and there's plenty of keyless ones to choose from.

You could try a cheap 3rd party 1/2 20 and see what the fit's like? Some of the Bosch keyless ones are list priced at £40-60, whereas the keyed one is £16.

I think it's really clever that Bosch have emulated the work that Mr Wonka started, getting rodents involved in the manufacturing process.
