Good morning.

I have a Bosch WFL2872 washing machine and over the weekend, mid cycle, it tripped the house consumer unit. We reset the consumer unit and restarted the washer, and the same happened, except this time the washer won't power on.

Any suggestions where I should start looking? Mains filter capacitor? Motor brushes?

Any tips as to where to target my investigations would be appreciated.

Thank you

If it tripped an RCD, likely culprit would be motor - carbon dust from the brushes earthing to motor frame. Remove the motor and clean out the dust. Another possibility is a water leak shorting something to earth - find, fixing the leak and allowing it to dry out might be all that is needed.
