BREAKING: Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor arrested

If we're to retain a monarchy, why do they need to live in such extreme opulence? Not for one sec am I suggesting they should be in houses mere mortals like us live in, however neither do I think it projects the right image in the modern era for them to have places like Buckingham Palace, Sandringham etc. And tbh I'm not interested in any counter arguments that usually get brought up e.g. parts of them open to the public, maintained by private funds blah blah blah.

....... in the modern era for them to have places like Buckingham Palace, Sandringham etc

It's one of the things that sets us apart from the rest of the world.

Chuck it away, and it is gone. For good.
Which will please some, and I respect their view.

But, for me, it's a small price to pay for the soft power it brings us.
Likely many multiples of the cost, being returned.

Just my two penneth.

Strange that after all these files have been released only one person has been prosecuted and jailed.

The young women were being sex trafficked. How many of them were under age I don't know, and age won't be the only factor depending on exactly what happened with them.

So, we can deduce lots of men (and maybe some women) were recipients of their services.

If Andrew ends up being the only proverbial head to roll, the whole thing will stink to high heavens.

I suspect a lot of what's going on is powerful people protecting each other, either willingly or through necessity.
