As much as I like your sentiment.....

Do you not think this whole scenario has divided people more than anything else in your life? Certainly the most divisive thing in my lifetime.

It is now much more than brexit in/out, it's the unleashed expressions and feelings that have been unbottled. They won't go back in the bottle once the final position is known.

I agree that it has been very devisive.

And of course, once things are said, they cannot be unsaid.

But this is true of many a topic, not just Brexit.

There are many areas of discussion where feelings run high.
