Hi all.

Got a damaged brick post, the top 4 bricks including the cap at the top have sheared away from the rest of the post entirely (you can pick it up as a single block). See picture for fault line.

I know nothing about mortar and redoing it that way.

Am I mad to try something like a heavy duty adhesive to ‘glue’ it back on?

Cheers for any help.

Clean up bricks and mix some yellow sand as and cement 6 to 1.
Lay brickes back. Not difficult.
You can cover the brick faces with duck tape to keep clean while you do it.
Might as well have a go. What's the worst that can happen? Materials are less then £15

I No More Nailsed a loose concrete cap on once, solid for about 10 years and outlived the rest of the wall.

We actually fixed a slab in a hurry with (low) ex-foam, as it was a trip hazard on a step into a house we are working on. It's actually stuck fast and is quite difficult to lift up.

Brickwork on a post knocked out of line by 10mm.Used a car jack and timber to lift and realign a corner post on the house ( wife backed the car into it).
Removed mortar on the perps and injected resin to fix the brickwork then made good with a little mortar .
