Hi, looking for some advice. I have a “fake” stove chamber/fireplace that will house an electric stove that will just be used for the flame effect only. The walls of the chamber are 12mm ply that is well secured. Realistically, is there any way brick slips can be fixed to this with the help of any sort of primer beforehand without them all falling off as time goes on? Or do I need to clad the full area with hardie board or similar? Ideally don’t want to reduce the width of the chamber as it will end up being a touch too small so any suggestions on primers/adhesives/meshes that I could mechanically fix would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you’re confident the ply is well screwed, with absolutely no movement, Id just tile it with normal tile adhesive. It Will hold those slips no problem. Score the ply first, then apply SBR, then use ( not tubbed) adhesive and an 8 mm notch trowel
