Don't forget there are well over a million Palestinians living in Israel as Israeli Citizens, never having left their homeland. Wouldn't that complicate any charge of genocide or ethnic cleansing.

I don't know. I have never really thought that Israel was carrying out genocide, in the sense that they are not trying to kill every Palestinian in Gaza. So, I have never really paid much attention to that debate. But then this morning, when scanning this thread, it suddenly occurred to me that it sounds more like ethnic cleansing. Does anyone dispute the Israeli government are trying to get the Palestinians to leave Gaza.

Can ethnic cleansing be a proportion of the population. Does it have to be the whole population. I don't know.

My personal belief is that any charges of ethnic cleansing would be more accurate if directed at activities in the West Bank.

Let's also remember that among Starmer's conditions for recognising a Palestinian State are that the Governing body in Gaza (PA) destroy childrens textbooks promoting Israeli hatred and that the PA stop paying stipends to Palestinians or their families because they have killed an Israeli.

There's aa whole lot of stuff that desperately needs sorting out, it's not all on the Israeli side, before any solution can be found.

If you destroy sufficient amount of their culture, the glue holding that society together loses its power.
If you kill enough of the women and children, you effectively reduce the future population until it naturally ceases to exist.
