Building Regulations - When to make application

Hi guys have spoken with my building regulations about wall removal and conversion of garage to spareroom with ensuite. I just wanted to know when is the best time to make application as we are about to start work next week (I hope).

Unless you have plans/details you can submit you'll need to apply for a builing notice, you'll have to fill in an application form (which you can normally download, probably submit it by email as well), look on your local authority website, you need to do this 48hrs before you start (in Plymouth anyway) for example; http://www.plymouth.gov.uk/homepage...control/buildingcontroltypesofapplication.htm or http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/england/genpub/en/1115313929364.html
