Cable for inside fitting

Hi All,
Question to expert diy! :)

how do you call this? gone on amazon and b and q website but without luck so far.

there is a head for a bulb, a switch and a plug and it goes inside a light appliance but it has overheated so need a new one.

The part that appears to have failed is an inline cord switch

When you fit an energy-saving LED lamp in future, the electrical load will be much lower so the next one should last longer.

You will also need some small screwdrivers.

Cut away the heat damaged ends of the wires inside the old switch. It will be less than an inch.
 
Thanks John for the recommendation - that is great - what about if i was looking to change the full electrical cable as I don't think it be that expensive? and even thought that look easy to fix - I might look at an easier remedial option.

I don't know where you would find one ready-made up.

perhaps from the manufacturer of the lamp.

Working lamps on wander leads are available, but don't have a switch like that.
