I downloaded an app called Lens, take a picture of almost anything and it will tell you what it is.
I’ve just tried it by taking a picture of my iPad screen with my phone. Apparently it is Podoscypha, a fungus.

Using an app called, Picture this.

Tells me it's Leathery Earthfans, a family of Fungi.

Botanical name, Thelephoraceae.

Super pic, and it's in great condition.

Matches the podoscypha images better, for me. Do a search on Images. There are several Nat Hist sites which would love to work it out. Also the Nat His Museum. Location is important - where was it?

On that result there's a Podoscypha multizonata at Kew which is a dead ringer.

Location is important - where was it?

Quarr Abbey, Isle of Wight. Been on the island for a short break, disappointed that I didn't see any red squirrels this time round.
