I am attaching plasterboard to my bathroom wall.

Half the wall is wooden (hiding the pipe) and half is brickwork. I can drill into the woodwork and attach the board with screws no probs (as I have done with the rest of the bathroom) but obviously drilling into brickwork is going to be a pain. Can I therefore attach half the board with screws and the other with dot n dab.

Oh yea, when I say 50% is wood I mean from left to right, rather than from floor to ceiling.

Thanks

yes you can.

use drywall screws for the wood, they are very sharp so no need to pre-drill or pilot.

if the timber finish is the same as the masonry then you may have to fix a 9mm board to the timber first as this will be the thickness of the dabs. you can then span the whole lot with a board over both the timber and masonry.

this way you could actually dab to the stud wall too if need be.

Cheers for that. I would have completly forgotten to take into account the thickness of the dab if you hadn't mentioned it
