Hi
Before I moved into my house the wall between the kitchen and dining room had been removed making a kitchen diner area. However, as is often the case I think, there is part of the wall left all the way round. as in like a foot square all the way round.
My question is would it be ok to remove the bit that runs down one wall so that I don't have this bit sticking out as its limiting where I want to put my fridge.

Thanks

until you can prove otherwise you should assume that the piece along the top is a lintel supporting the floor/wall above, and the two vertical pieces either side are the bearings that support the lintel.

Is there a wall above it? Which way to your upstairs floor joists run?

Walls dont just hang from the ceiling.. the top section will be a supporting beam or lintel.. then the side walls will be supporting this.. so in short NO you cant remove them without extending the beam and supporting on the other walls.. get an SE in to advise if this is even possible..

Thanks for both your replies, I think from What you have said I will leave it be. No there is no wall above and the joists upstairs run cross ways to this wall.

Thanks
