Hi, I am trying to avoid sanding our dining room floor. The floor is in good condition aside from the fact that it has been covered in a very yellow/orange varnish.

Are there chemicals that you can use indoors to disolve it? Do they work, or am i going to end up having to sand it anyway!

many thanks

Sanding is the best way to do it and certainly the easiest way.

However we have a customer that has recently bought a sizeable amount of our methylene chloride based stripper. They were working in a large castle over in Dublin and didn't want to remove any of the 200 year old wood partly because in that time it had dipped and moved. So hand stripping was the only option.

Messy but it does work.

Hope this helps
