Hi all,

Hoping someone can advise please.

I have pp to convert a barn and am sorting out builders etc. One has commented that the existing tiles that we are supposed to reuse have no nail holes. They also have two fairly small nibs that they think may not be good enough for modern batten sizes. They have commented all tiles may need to be replaced.

Can anyone advise if this is the case or if there is an alternative? They have commented they may not be drill able as they appear quite hard.

Many thanks
Mike

I'm no roofer, but could they not cut a hrozontal slit with a grinder or stihl saw near the top of the tile, and get two nails in there?

many tiles have no nail holes, they are fixed with clips instead

Old Staffy blues don't have nail holes in either and (the last time i looked) my moms roof has still got all the tiles intact.

Dont grind a slot in to the tiles for nail holes though, it weakens the tile
