Can you remodel 4 linked garages into 3 linked garages ? Costs of this versus new build ?

Also, we could have 3 phase in the garages offering much faster charging.
Only for vehicles which can use 3 phase, which is very few of them.

Speed of charging at home is mostly irrelevant, as the car will be parked there for many hours / overnight.

Before you think about construction costs you need to consider DNO (electricity cable) costs. 24 single phase charge points is an extra 200A per phase. I think you might reduce your ambitions somewhat when you find out what your DNO will charge for that!

Not really. The bigger battery vehicles already need 16+ hours on the low charging and that is hugely impractical for one car, nevermind two.

Why would we need to go to 200A, which I have had quoted for on a commercial job (asked about increasing supply where we already had 100A) and found out £50k or so costs whereas adding another 100A 3 phase was about £2k (2016/7 costs).

flameport's point is that very few cars can properly utilise a 22kw 3 phase charger. Does everyone on your estate drive a Zoe or a Tesla?

Some cars will use 3 phases but charge at 11kw; most cars use one of the 3 phases when plugged into a 3 phase charger, and charge at 7kw

Very few people completely flatten and need to completely recharge a battery every day, so "16h to charge isn't very practical" might be a worst case scenario that seldom arises
