Hi, can anyone help please?

We have a piece of wood screwed to a wall, which was put up by the previous owners and had a 'desk' on it. We've removed the desk but can't get the wood support off the wall - most of the screws are damaged so can't turn them (I think previous owners might've tried to remove as they took literally everything possible, light bulbs etc, but only succeeded in damaging the screws). How can I remove it from the wall? It's pretty sturdily attached.

Thanks in advance!

It may prove necessary to cut the timber away either side of the screws, and then remove what's left with a chisel.....leaving the screws poking out which you can then attack with a pair of Mole grips or similar.
Lets hope No Nails hasn't made an appearance here

Or drill a couple of vertical holes either side of screws and give it a whack with a hammer.
