First blow would knock them out and cause a massive brain bleed, it's not the movies. You will witness, perhaps some convulsions and agonal breathing. The brain is mostly dead at that point. Yes you might see some skull fragments.

I hope that’s what happened to Huntley. Just enough consciousness to understand what was happening to him. And why.

Looking at the case of Huntley as a great example of the death sentence, He was kept in prison for 22 years at a cost to the tax payer of £51.000 per year, a prisoner kills him and the cost is now reduced to a funeral cost.
Had we have just executed him in 2002 we would only have had a very negligable cost to execute him. The savings could be huge if we executed these types of prisoners.

do pay attention to its mistakes, it likes to please and when challenged it sometimes changes its mind. It was advising me to increase my bond holdings as a hedge while at the same time moving cash to stock. Obviously the two don't make much sense, which it spotted once I challenged it.

But that aside it's a bloody good tool. Tax avoidance advice that a certain tax obsessed member of this forum would be proud of.
