Good evening all, i have an old outside toilet that i would like to remove which is still in working order.
I can knock it down but my only question is how to cap the lead pipe water supply?
I know that i can buy a lead pipe cap fit but the pipe comes up half way in the yard so i would need to numatic up the ground to reveal the pipe being careful not puncture it and obviously to have turned of the water supply, but when i get the pipe back to a suitable place how do i end it?
Do i just cap it under ground and concrete over it, do i dig out more around it and then build a little box around it with a lid and a tap?
Thanks for your advice.
Regards
Lee

Officially you should remove the whole section of pipe right back to where it tee's off to avoid creating a deadleg.

If you convert it into an outside tap then it isn't a deadleg...
