Ordinary airhorns, e.g. Fiamm, are pretty good. The compressor takes a half second or so to wind up to speed, so if you just want to give some daydreamer a quick beep, you can do so without shattering eardrums. Only if you keep the horn button pressed do the Banshees emerge....Louder horn sounds like a good idea. The Astra horn is impressively loud for standard, using it with the windows open results in my own surprise! Anyone know if an Intercity train horn will fit under the bonnet of a car?
