Hi

My specs say I have to have a Catnic Lintels type CN3/CN7.

I cannot find CN3/CN7 on Google.

I have also tried for CN7 on its own but no trace.

These lintels are for a 75mm cavity wall - regular brick & block.

Any idea what the actual differences are between CN3 and CN7
or is CN3/CN7 the code I am looking for.

First time dealing with lintels, so any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Stephen

Either you are miss reading the spec.. or whoever specified it has a really old product catalogue..
Looks alot like 2 different lintels one for each leaf which is odd..
I believe the CN range are for solid masonry.. but they change things regularly..

Either give the guy who spec'd the lintels a bell or phone Catnic for advise..

No such animal as a CN3, however there are CN7, but are followed by a further number and letters and are for solid walls.
If you wish to use Catnic and lintels are for standard loading and you have 275mm walling, you want CG70/100 open back

You've got a crap specifier there. CN3 and 7 were cavity lintels from 5-10 years ago and are no longer made.

Just go to the merchants and ask for "a lintel for a 75mm cavity wall"

Woody your so right - the guy came around this morning with his catalogue,
he did admit it was dated 1996!

Thanks everyone.
