Hi all, I am needing to put a cctv camera up in my back garden, the problem is it wouldn't be possible to run a direct ethernet cable from the camera to the internet box, so i found out you can get these things (don't know what they are called) and you plug them into a plug socket which would then allow me to connect the camera into this thing in the wall instead of running a whole cable to the internet box, if anyone could give any advice on these and if they do work that would be helpfull

Apologies I'm not too sure what to say Also the reason i need this is the Vodaphone internet is too weak in the garden wall where the camera is going

Link for the plug in internet connection thing:

If anyone has used a different brand not too expensive please do tell me this is new to me

Note- The camera can be connected wireless to internet or ethernet cable

Thank you for taking the time to help me

To mean something like TP-Link AV1000 Powerline?

Id use WiFi and a plug in power supply. You can't do that?

Yes sorry, i can plug the actual cam into socket but not into the internet router, so i have found these booster plugs that im thinking of using

I think that's the same as what you are saying

Thank you

The TP LINK WIFI extender is good …plug in socket with a ETHERNET plug ..about £14 in Argos , you would still need to power locally

Thank you all for your advice, hopefully this will do the job!

  • "Flexible Storage & Advanced Data Security: Store footage locally on a Micro SD card (up to 256GB, not included) or on an NVR (Onvif/RSTP compatible). Or access Imou Cloud for secure, remote storage and easy video playback. Local servers in Europe ensure fast and reliable service while adhering to strict GDPR compliance. TLS encryption technology safeguards your personal data, providing peace of mind and privacy protection."

Which is the best option as i dont want to pay monthly fees but would like to view the footage from my laptop or phone

For wired cameras use power over Ethernet (POE). You’ll need either a Poe switch (a little more expensive than a normal one) for multiple cameras or a Poe injector for just one.
