Drill bit sharpeners

I have a couple of these, in my workshop, and just never managed to work out how to sharpen drill bits with them. The instructions are so sparse, as to be useless. There is a holder for the drill bits, and some sort of setting guide, into which the holder fits, but how are you supposed to use that guide?

At that price point you have to manage expectations of what it will do.
I've always found that type of equipment poor.
Looking on YouTube there isn't much to look at which tells you something.

Maybe watch this as a similar machine.

It seems I was guessing the setup part correctly, but I was finding it left the heel of tip of the drill bit higher than the leading edge. If I ground the heel away manually, it does seem to work quite well.

This sort of setup works pretty well

There may be a need to mount the grinder spaced up some how. Depends on size. Both need fixing in place. Personally I wouldn't take of as much as he has per go. Best use the fine adjuster. With a green grit wheel carbide can be done as well.

There are machines that can do cross point but the costs increase.
