I am about to cover a large soffit overhang on my extension in 19 x 140mm cedar cladding.
What would be the best method of fixing? Should I use stainless nails?
I would like the contemporary look without visible nail heads.
Thanks
Andy

Is it profiled T&G? Because its quite thick you can use lost heads in the tongues if you have a small enough nailer or your doing it by hand.

On outdoor work though this may not be strong enough to resist the board cupping.

I would face nail it with a fixing on each side and just use the smallest head stainless nail you can. Line them up with a stringline to keep it tidy

yeah just keep them nice and tidy and punch them with a fine nail punch and they should look OK, alternatively tongue tight screws they have a very small head and will pull through in between the grain
