I’m in the process of changing my ceiling light to a ceiling fan with light .Upon removing the existing light fitting,I have 3 cables dangling down,2 cables have an earth, neutral and live but the other cable has 2 live and an earth. My new fitting only has a live and neutral connector, how do I wire up the new fitting?(only 1 switch in the bedroom)

Do not mix the browns up.

One brown is coming from switch so on and off.

Other 3 browns are permanent live. Always on.

Actually written on fitting if you look.

Loop meaning going to another light/lights and back to fuse box

Normally the light would be switched, and the fan would use a remote control, so would wire something like this.

Can't understand why only two wires, how do you work light and fan independently?
