I've just had an EHE0200155 room thermostat fitted as part of a new CH installation. It's hard wired to a Baxi Duo-tec combi boiler.

The stat seemed to work all right for a week or so but now seems to have become very inaccurate - a full 5 degrees out in fact (checked using a thermometer).

As the boiler has no 'HW on, CH off' option, it's a bit alarming as this means that I have very little control over the boiler.

Has anyone else experienced failures with this unit? Suggestions as to a more reliable alternative? (I only want a very simple room stat. No requirement for programming or anything fancy like that).

You should have some sort of programmer, even a basic mechanical timer costing about £30 can be fitted direct to the boiler.

As for the stat, if the neutral isn't wired to these things then it wont regulate heat as effective as it should.

The boiler has a mechanical timer fitted. It's switched off though. Heating is simply controlled by a simple room stat.
