Hello Sam

Marked red cut with hack saw.
In blue with a Fein saw cut the collar about 5mm. With a heat gun heat litely between the blue lines.. and gently peel with a flat nosed screw driver.
Once that section is removed gently heat an peel the rest. Your heating the collar nit the pipe.

It's an easy fúck up so take your time or get a good plumber

I just used the heat gun on some scrap solvent weld swept bend with some pipe attached and it just melted the pipe and bend.

There is a skill to it... doesn't take a lot of heat.. I've fûcked up myself in the past.... but I'll always have a plan B

Hair dryer might be a bit less brutal...
EDIT If the original joint was made properly it'll be very hard to unmake it (solvent weld does or should create a homogenous bond, its not glue)

I tried the hair dryer first before bringing out the hot air gun, or should I say I borrowed my wife's hairdryer!
