Hey guys, quick question for those with NICEIC enrolment. (If you don't have it, but can help also, then cheers).

I am having to change my scheme from Domestic Installer to Approved contractor to meet the demands of some clients.

I was planning on having the Periodic Inspection Reporting Scheme a while back but held back as I new this was coming.

My question is, does an approved contractor require to do the Periodic Reporting Scheme? Or is it combined? Or can both be combined into one visit?

I'm a little reluctant to ring the NICEIC directly atm as it seems they have diverted their number to a home shopping network of some kind.

If you enroll as an AP then unless you specifically limit your scope* then you are registered for all aspects of general electrical contracting, but you will have to show a good range of jobs from the same

The AP does not automatically cover you for notifying domestic work, but an AP will only have to sign an extra form to be registered as DI as well, no extra fees apply

* I have only heard of one person who does this, he carries out inspection and testing only, and that is all he is registered as an AP for, and obviously thats the only jobs he has to show.... very much a route thats only if you specialise in one particular aspect!
