Im wondering if I can change the frame design of my roof to allow more space in the loft. Its a good size and you can stand up in it. However there are some rafters in the centre that use up alot of the walkable space. If I doubled up the others and added a load of new braces to triangulate the top. Can it be cut up to make it more roomy?

Who would I get structural advice from regarding this? Builder? Roofer? Structural engineer?

Any help is much appreciated

You would seek advice from a structural engineer.

Heres some pics that hopefully show the situation. Ive also just realised I posted this in the wrong forum though its still related to roofing I guess.
