if i need to pop the red connector into thr recess of the ceiling due to lack of space, is it safe, and should i tapeup with insulatring tape?

if its the sort of light I think it is B&Q, focus type. a bar with 3 spots attached to it you should have plenty of room in the fitting as long as you get the 5amp connect blocks
