Hi all.

I have a gas hob build in to a worktop made of laminate, which has been there for 25yrs. I want to change it to an electric hob.

When the gas hob is removed will it:
(a) come out nice and cleanly
or
(b) pull the laminate to pieces due to glue or sealant or whatever is between the hob and the top of the laminate worktop.

It looks to me like the hole size in the worktop shouldn't present too many problems providing I shop carefully.

I had an electric hob at late mother's house, it had been put slightly proud of the work top, so any spilt liquid would go onto the work top making the work top wet, it had touch controls which needed to be kept dry, so can see the reasoning, and also the touch controls were invisible from a wheelchair, could not be viewed at that angle, and the touch controls too slow to operate, the induction hob is so reactive no need to lift the pan, simply turn the knob, far safer that way, then some daft twit removes the knob.

My own induction hob part of a full cooker, uses knobs, and is slightly lower than the work top, so any spills are retained on the cooker.
