Thought this would be straightfoward so bought what I thought was 1 way switch. Turned out to be intermediate.
Other problem is that dimmer had two live connections and 2 neutrals. The neutrals were in a connector block.
Connected switch up twice with both live at top and neutrals at bottom but fuse blew.
What am I doing wrong?

Put the neutrals back in that terminal block. Don't connect them to the switch.

Put one live in either of the top terminals, the other live in either of the bottom terminals.
